A tribute to Don Byron: ‘Thanks Coach’ (Abington Mariner)
In March the Abington boys’ basketball team completed the most successful season in school history, capturing the Div. 3 South Sectional title and earning the right to play at the TD Banknorth Garden. Winning seasons and tournament appearances have become commonplace in Abington this decade, but 12 years ago it was a different case when head coach Don Byron took the reins of the program.
